Information you provide
We collect your account email, phone number, password in hashed form, and the profile details you choose to enter. These may include your name, date of birth, gender, photos, location, education, occupation, family details, religion, community, and partner preferences. Optional fields can be left blank.
Connections and communication
We store interests, shortlists, messages, contact requests and decisions, reports, specialist requests, and call metadata such as participants, time, and duration. SahiRishta does not record voice or video call content. Camera and microphone access is requested for calls you choose to join. You can choose photos from your device or take a photo with your camera.
How information is used
We use information to operate your account, display profiles to members, suggest matches, provide messaging and calls, handle safety reports, respond to requests, and maintain the service. Hosting and email providers process the information needed to deliver those services. We do not sell your personal information or use advertising trackers in the app.
What other members can see
Profile details and approved photos are visible to signed-in members subject to the service's visibility controls. Your phone number and account email are shared with another member only after you approve that person's contact request. Accepting an interest does not approve contact sharing. You can revoke approval; this stops future access in SahiRishta but cannot erase information someone already saved elsewhere. Privacy Shield adds another layer of contact protection.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, remove photos, manage contact approvals, use Privacy Shield, and block or report another member. Device settings control camera, microphone, and photo access. Do not put private contact information in public profile text or photos if you want to keep it protected.
Storage and deletion
Account and profile information is retained while your account is active. In the mobile app, open Profile, Account settings, and Delete account to permanently remove your account and its associated data. Deletion removes your profile, stored photos, interests, contact permissions, and conversations from the active service. Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until they expire. Operational security records may be retained as needed to investigate abuse or meet applicable requirements.
Security and local storage
We use HTTPS for public connections, access controls, and hashed passwords. The mobile app stores session tokens in device secure storage. The website uses browser storage to maintain your signed-in session and animation preference. Hosting and service providers may process data in countries outside your location.
Adults only
SahiRishta is for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe an account belongs to a minor, report the profile so our team can review it.
